Abstract
We fabricated in-plane aligned, a-axis oriented YBa 2Cu 3O 7-δ (YBCO) films and NdBa 2Cu 3O 7-δ films on (100) LaSrGaO 4 (LSGO) substrates using Gd 2CuO 4/PrBa 2Cu 3O 7-δ buffer layers by laser ablation. Using these buffer layers, we could deposit the a-axis oriented YBCO films on LSGO substrates at the substrate temperature 20–60 °C higher than the case of the ordinary template method. Through the deposition at higher substrate temperatures, the degree of in-plane alignment and T c of the YBCO films on LSGO substrates were much higher than those without these buffer layers.
