Abstract
New polycondensation methods of synthesis of polymers are examined subsumed under the title “activated polycondensation” and based on the interaction of chemically activated bis-electrophiles (diverse activated diesters and diamides) with bis-and poly-functional nucleophiles. It is shown that the new methods are characterized by low proneness to secondary reactions and also wide synthetic possibilities giving new promising macromolecular systems of different classes — polyamides, polyurethanes, polyureas, polyesters and other compounds. Close attention is paid in the review to the nature and mechanism of the activation of the biselectrophiles and also the processes of synthesis of new polymers on which are based reactions not requiring the use of traditional forms of electrophilic monomers.
