Abstract

The preparation of crystalline C3N4 films was investigatedusing pulsed arc discharge from mixed methanol and ammonia water atatmospheric pressure. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of thefilms prepared at a substrate temperature of 450oCsuggested that the film was composed of α-C3N4 andβ-C3N4 crystallites. Raman spectra exhibited distinctpeaks which are in good agreement with those predicted theoreticallyfor C3N4 crystallites.
