Abstract

In order to extend the range of ceramic colors on the basis of available raw materials the authors investigated ceramic pigments made from diopside and augite which are related to pyroxenes. The crystal-chemical features of pyroxenes [i, 2] and their wide isomorphism create the prerequisites for the synthesis of ceramic pigments using raw materials in which the oxides of calcium, magnesium, and silicon are combined in significant amounts.
