Abstract
A new amide-containing benzimidazole-isoxazole (9a-j) derivative was synthesized and evaluated for anticancer activities against a panel of human cancer cell lines including PC3 (prostate cancer), DU-145 (prostate cancer), A549 (lung cancer), and MCF-7 (breast cancer) using the MTT assay.The reference drug's IC50 values ranged from 0.022±0.0051 to 18.6 ± 6.22 µM, whereas the compounds' values ranged from 1.97 ± 0.45 to 3.08 ± 0.135 µM. The compounds 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, 9e, and 9h showed the strongest anticancer activity of all of them.
