Abstract

AbstractThe synthesis of water insoluble supramolecular complex is achieved from highly water soluble p‐sulfonatocalix[4]arene (p‐SC4) and Safranin T (ST). The analysis of the complex reveals the cavity packing of ST with p‐SC4. The solution state studies also confirms the binding efficiency at lower concentrations. Electrochemical behavior of ST and p‐SC4 explains the variation in redox potential upon binding. The ROESY and NOESY techniques reveals the spatial interaction of protons of p‐SC4 with ST in solution and solid state respectively.
