Abstract

A two-dimensional (2-D) coordination polymer, {[Ag(L)](H2O)}n (1) (L = naphthalene-2,3-dicarboxylate), was synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. This complex belongs to orthorhombic system with space group Pca21, and exhibits a binodal 4-connected (44·62)2 topological net. In addition, such 2-D layers are further interlinked by the inter-layer C–H···π interactions, generating an overall 3-D supramolecular framework. Studies on photoluminescent property of 1 show the solid-state emission originating from an intraligand π→π* transition of L ligand.
