Abstract
In this present study, a detailed study of metal chelates of Mannich base derived from barbituric acid have been carried out with particular reference to the structural aspects of the ligand moieties in the metal complexes. The ligand and its complexes of ZnII, CdII and HgII were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, IR and Mass spectral techniques. Conductance measurements of the complexes, anticorrosion study and antimicrobial study of ligand and its complexes were also analysed.
