Abstract
New soluble m-carborane-containing poly Schiff bases have been obtained by polycondensation of m-carboranylene diamine and 1,7-bis-(4-aminophenyloxycarbonyl) m-carborane with aromatic dialdehydes in solution. The optimal conditions for polymer synthesis are selected. The structure of the polymers obtained is confirmed by synthesis of previously undescribed model compounds and the results of IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Some properties of m-carborane-containing poly Schiff bases and their model compounds have been studied.
