Abstract

The antimony(III) phosphate, Sb5PO10, is a framework structure built from vertex-sharing tetrahedral SbIIIO3E and trigonal bipyramidal SbIIIO4E moieties (E=lone pair) and PVO4 tetrahedral units; orthorhombic, space group P212121 (No. 19), a=6.8373(5), b=7.0932(5), c=19.8730(15) Å, V=963.81(12) Å3, Z=8. The structure, determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, is based on alternating layers of antimony oxide and antimony phosphate.
