Abstract

Treatment of [M 2Cl 2(μ-Cl) 2(PR 3) 2] M/PRPt/PEt 3, Pt/PBu 3, Pt/PMe 2Ph, Pt/PMePh 2, Pd/PMe 2Ph) with AgO 2PPh 2 at room temperature, gave diphenylphosphinato-bridged binuclear complexes [M 2Cl 2(μ-O 2PPh 2) 2(PR 3) 2]. These complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Crystal and molecular structure of [Pt 2Cl 2(μ-O 2PPh 2) 2(PMe 2Ph) 2] has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The eight-membered metallocyclic ring “Pt 2(O 2P) 2” has a boat conformation with Pt ⋯ Pt separation of 3.2212(6) Å.
