Abstract
AbstractSeveral π‐acceptor discotic liquid crystalline compounds were synthesized by using a pyrenedione unit as a core. Terrace‐like and band‐like structures were revealed by polarized optical microscopy (POM) observations and XRD measurements. In conjunction with the results of the single‐crystal structure analysis of analogous crystalline compounds, all of the liquid crystalline compounds were confirmed to form a discotic lamellar phase DL2.
