Abstract

Bismuth is a impressive activator and sensitizer for luminescent material, which has been comprehensively investigated during the recent decades. Bismuth is a chemical element and it is a post transition metal and bismuth is flexible but complex dopant for possible luminescence application study and it has been accumulating to understand the optical properties of bismuth. Proposed work shows the luminescence properties of bismuth doped Ba 3 Wo 5 Cl 2 is successfully synthesized by using solid state diffusion method. X-ray diffraction pattern of prepared phosphor is compared with the standard ICSD database shows the sample is prepared in well manner. Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) displays the vibrational feature of prepared phosphor. Photoluminescence study demonstrated emission peak of proposed phosphor located at 708 nm due to 4 G 5/2 → 6 H 11/2 at excitation 471 nm. There are several evidences that the peaks observed in the range from 650 to 750 nm are useful in plant cultivation.
