Abstract

We report the synthesis of Li1+2xNi0.5Mn1.5-xZnxO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3) materials by solid state reaction method and investigated the role of Zn doping in LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 structure. The prepared materials were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Temperature dependence AC impedance spectra were analysed and revealed the negative temperature coefficient of resistance for all the samples. The dc conductivity of Li1+2xNi0.5Mn1.5-xZnxO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3) materials shows the high conductivity for x = 0.2 in comparison with other compositions. Furthermore, the activation energies of dc conductivity were determined from the Arrhenius plot as 0.585 eV, 0.585 eV, 0.347 eV and 0.234 eV for Li1+2xNi0.5Mn1.5-xZnxO4 with × 0.0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 respectively.
