Abstract

ZnO is a wide gap semiconductor which finds various applications in solar cells, thin film transistors, sensors, cosmetics etc. ZnO in powder form is synthesized by precipitation of zinc sulphate and sodium hydroxide solutions. Samples are prepared by varying the molar ratios of zinc sulphate and sodium hydroxide solutions. Characterization of samples were done using X-ray diffraction, SEM and Photoluminescence studies. Particle size is dependent of the aforesaid parameters and changes in particle size, strain and lattice parameters can be observed from variations in XRD pattern, SEM images and photoluminescence studies
