Abstract
AbstractThe reaction of triphenyltin(IV) hydroxide with the isophthalic acid and benzoic acid derivatives, 5‐(1,3‐dioxo‐1,3‐dihydro‐isoindol‐2‐yl)‐isophthalic acid (H2L1) and 4‐(1,3‐dioxo‐1,3‐dihydro‐isoindol‐2‐yl)‐benzoic acid (HL2) yielded the complexes [(SnPh3)2L1] (1) and [(SnPh3)L2] (2). All complexes were characterized by elemental analysis and FT‐IR and NMR (1H, 13C, 119Sn) spectroscopy. Interestingly, the supramolecular structures of 1 and 2 are found to consist of 1D molecular chains built up by intermolecular C–H···O hydrogen bonds. Their thermal stabilities were also investigated.
