Abstract

The present work includes the fabrication of in-situ carbon coated manganese dioxide using manganese dioxide slurry. The carbon content in form of sucrose has been added to composite electrode. This study observed formation of sucrose coating on the MnO2 nanoparticles. This method provides straightforward approach to incorporate MnO2 nanoparticles into the conducting network of carbon. The carbon matrix to the MnO2 nanoparticles may enhance overall conductivity of the nanocomposite and make it useful for various applications. The prepared composite of sucrose coated MnO2 was characterized with XRD, Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Raman confirms the phases of carbon and MnO2 in the composite. The morphology was investigated with SEM.
