Abstract

LiNbO3 was synthesized by the thermal decomposition method at low temperature. The LiNbO3 precursor was obtained by grinding the mixture of lithium hydroxide and niobium hydroxide in small amount of water and then drying. The results show that single-phase LiNbO3 powders were obtained by calcining the LiNbO3 precursor at different temperature for 3 h. The particle size of obtained LiNbO3 powders calcinations at 375°C was estimated to be more than 18 nm by scanning electron microscopy, the presence of peak around 674, 640 and 439 cm−1 was Nb-O bond characteristic absorption peak in the fourier transform infrared spectra.
