Abstract

By hydrothermal treatment, α-Fe2O3 with club and date pit-like structures were successfully prepared using amphiphilic diblock copolymer poly(styrene-b-acrylic acid) (PS-b-PAA) micelle as soft template. The particles were characterized by fourier transform infrared (FTIR), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The influence of factors on the morphologies of α-Fe2O3 particles, such as the compositions and concentration of copolymer, and existence of citric acid, has been discussed.
