Abstract

Based on the generalized sheet transition conditions (GSTCs), the surface electric/magnetic susceptibilities of frequency selective surface (FSS) are extracted and analyzed. Key factors that affect the FSS performance, including frequency variations, structure shapes, angular dependent, and bandwidth are studied through the susceptibility parameters. Based on the analysis of four typical FSS structures, potential automatic structure designs are suggested and several illustrative examples are given. Finally, the method is compared with the equivalent circuit method.
