Abstract

Abstract To investigate the synergies of graphene and BaTiO3 on the morphology and dielectric behavior of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF), γ-oxo-pyrenebutyric acid-modified graphene (GPA) and BaTiO 3 were incorporated into PVDF matrix by using solution-cast and hot-pressing method. π-π interaction between graphene (Gra) and γ-oxo-pyrenebutyric acid (PA), and the hydrogen bonding effect between hydroxy groups on BaTiO3 and PVDF can improve the dispersity of Gra and BaTiO3 in PVDF matrix. The addition of BaTiO3 improved further the dielectric permittivity that originates from high dielectric BaTiO3 , and remarkable interfacial polarization effect between PVDF and fillers, and the non-conducting organic groups of PA can support the low loss and conductivity in PVDF/GPA/BT composites that shows potential application as high dielectric material over a broad temperature range.
