Abstract
This paper investigates the accuracy of the synchrophasor estimator provided by the three-point Interpolated Discrete Fourier Transform (IpDFT) algorithm, which is based on the polynomial approximation of the numerically computed spectrum of the window. The synchrophasor estimation algorithm was tested using two types of windows: cosine and non-cosine windows to meet the accuracy requirements of the IEEE Std C37.118.1™-2011 and its amendment IEEE Std C37.118.1a™-2014 under steady state conditions. The test was conducted under the effect of static frequency offsets, harmonic distortion, and wideband noise. The results were found to be accurate and satisfy the M-class PMU requirements under steady state conditions.
