Abstract
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric condition with an estimated lifetime prevalence of between 1 and 2%. OCD is considered the fourth most common mental disorder in developed countries, and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), represents the 10th leading cause of disability. Even when optimal treatment is provided, 10% of patients remain severely affected chronically. Through this symposium we want to highlight the neurobiology of treatment resistant OCD and the recent advances in treatment of the same.
