Abstract
Obernier etal. (2018) show that the primary mode of division of adult ventricular-subventricular zone (V-SVZ) neural stem cells is symmetric, with the majority generating two non-stem cell progeny, and a minority self-renewing. This discovery has important implications for understanding stem cell dynamics and adult neurogenesis.
