Abstract

A novel symmetric 8-channel power divider/combiner based on a 90° sector waveguide is proposed in this paper. The rectangular waveguide TE<inf>10</inf> mode is converted to the sector waveguide TE<inf>01</inf> mode in the mode conversion structure. In order to expand the bandwidth of the power divider, the input and output ports use gradient waveguides, and the step impedance transformation technology is used to achieve impedance matching in the middle and the ends of the sector waveguide. According to the electromagnetic simulation, in the 144GHz–169GHz frequency band, the return loss is better than −20dB, the amplitude unbalance of the output port is better than −9dB±0.3dB, and the phase unbalance degree is less than 1°. This structure has the advantages of wide bandwidth, low insertion loss, compact size and good heat dissipation.
