Abstract

A five ports ridge waveguide power divider with compact sizes is proposed and analyzed in this paper. The whole structure of this power divider is symmetrical configuration, so it can easily dominate the phase and amplitude consistence of two output ports. This type of power divider can provide good phase and amplitude consistence between two output ports with low return loss, low insertion loss, high isolation and compact size in C-band. The simulation shows that return loss of the compact divider is below −18 dB between 2.8 GHz and 3.6 GHz, the insertion loss is lower than 0.1 dB, the isolation between two output ports is better than 20 dB, the phase and the amplitude of two output ports is absolutely consistent. In order to match the ridge waveguide, this paper presents the design of a transition from coaxial line to ridge waveguide.
