Abstract
Swyer James syndrome is a rare and complex disease characterized by hyperlucency of one lung, lobe, or part of a lobe, due the diminished pulmonary vascular supply and alveolar overdistension. This syndrome seems to be an acquired disease that develops after viral bronchiolitis and/or viral pneumonia in early childhood. Pulmonary artery hypoplasia and bronchiectasis are well known associations of the syndrome. We report a 49-year-old patient with Swyer-James syndrome with pulmonary artery and vein hypoplasia, which were demonstrated by multislice computed tomography.
