Abstract
We propose a convenient simulation setup for switching and controlling the bright soliton to the dark soliton using Mach–Zehnder Modulator Absorption-Phase (MZMAP). It is shown that the switching performance occurs by changing the bias and the modulation voltages of the MZMAPs. It is seen that the variation of the MZMAP voltages can affect the depth and the phase of the generated dark soliton. Finally, to confirm the solitary wave properties of the generated dark soliton, we include the optical fiber component after the second MZMAP in the simulation setup and study the propagation of the generated dark soliton through the fiber.
