Abstract

The stochastic dynamics of an inertial superparamagnetic particle are described here by Brown's Langevin equation of motion. Major hysteresis loops are computed using numerical simulations. The resultant switching field distribution is analyzed as a function of temperature, dissipation strength, and period of the driving field. A temperature-dependent scaling law relating the width and the height of the switching field distribution is proposed.
