Abstract
In this paper a novel high step-up inverter with combined Γ - Z source inverter and switched inductor voltage multiplier cell is presented. A Γ - Z source inverter that has been introduced recently has a very interesting feature: unlike the Trans Z-source inverter its voltage gain is increased by lowering its transformer turn ratio. The voltage gain in a Γ - Z source is very sensitive to transformer turn ratio, particularly when it approaches to its lower limit of one. Therefore it should be wound carefully and should be a safety margin to avoid triggering of unanticipated events. In this paper, it is shown that the voltage gain is increased significantly with combined the Γ - Z source inverter with the switched inductor voltage multiplier cell. The proposed inverter is analyzed and the voltage gain is obtained and is compared with a Γ - Z inverter. It is shown that the voltage gain for the proposed inverter is higher than Γ - Z inverter in any transformer turn ratio. The performance of the proposed inverter is verified with simulation results.
