Abstract
This article shows the study of low cost dc boost & three phase ac load voltage of Impedance (Z) - source inverter (ZSI). ZSI has actually very unique buck-boost capability. It allows shoot through state (short circuit) which improve the reliability of circuit. The detailed specifications of ZSI are present in this paper. The operating principle of ZSI is explained along with introduction of shoot through state by simple boost control modulation strategy. Total harmonic distortion is also obtained for ZSI using FFT analysis. The proposed ZSI can be used in grid connected PV system. Simulation results are obtained for ZSI by using simple boost control using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
