Abstract

This paper proposes a switchable function between the Wilkinson Power Divider (WPD) and Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch in 3.5 GHz band. The switchable function between the WPD and SPDT switch was realized by using discrete PIN diodes. Two matching stubs are also included in the proposed design to compensate a mismatch when the function of the proposed design switched from WPD to SPDT switch function. The circuit was designed using the Advanced Design System (ADS) software and its performance simulated based on the Rogers RO4350 substrate. With regard to the WPD function, the simulated results showed S11 3.6 dB and S23 −0.91, S13 −1.2 dB and S23 < −27 dB at 3.5 GHz. Therefore, the proposed design showed a good performance for both functions of WPD and SPDT switch for any microwave applications in 3.5 GHz band.
