Abstract

The issues of approaches to planning the transition period of training orienteering athletes, the use of swimming
 as a means of active recreation, as well as a non-specific load that allows maintaining the main indicators of fitness of
 athletes in the transition period are considered. The article presents options for constructing a microcycle of the transition
 period in the preparation of orienteering athletes. The results of the study of the dynamics of the vital capacity of the
 lungs and the respiratory rate of orienteering athletes in the transition period of training are described.
