Abstract

Nine modifications of sintered (distilled and technical) beryllium were irradiated, investigated and compared. The major changes as a result of irradiation were shown to be variation of density, an increase in strength properties and decrease in plasticity properties. An expression that links swelling or additional sintering of the material with its initial porosity, total impurity content and mean grain size has been suggested.
