Abstract
The Uttarakhand Himalaya has enormous prospects for sustainable tourism development however there are many constraints too. In this chapter, major constraints and prospects of tourism development are described. Further, SWOC analysis of tourism development in the Uttarakhand Himalaya is carried out. It has been noticed that if all the prospects of tourism development are harnessed optimally and the major constraints are seriously tackled/checked through suitable policy measures, the region can attain sustainable tourism development goals.
