Abstract

“Mega dam-induced development” represents one of the most critical causes of irreversible disappearance of geomorphic wonders or extinction of many rare plants and animal species in the world. Taking this as a point of departure, this article investigates the general thrusts of the Malaysian Bakun's dam technology in harnessing its national development policy under the litancy of sustainable development. It also explores the relevant of Photovoltaic technology vis-à-vis Bakun's technology as a long-term development strategy in Malaysia.
