Abstract
The Dongria Kandha women in Odisha are experiencing systematic resource inequalities in relation to rights and control over their forests and its resources due to the intervention of various state and non-state actors. The study uses the in-depth interview method to analyse the emerging changes and alternate strategies utilised by the Dongria Kandha women to deal with the changing consequences. The study found that a revival of ecological knowledge helped Dongria women to achieve self- determination over their food systems. Further, securing forest rights can help women to sustain forest biodiversity.
