Abstract

(Abstracted from N Engl J Med 2022;386(6):544–555) Despite widespread implementation of cervical cancer screening and prevention programs including cytologic assessment and high-risk human papillomavirus DNA detection as well as effective vaccines, the incidence of cervical cancer remains high. Treatment varies based on stage and grade and involves a combination of surgery, platinum-based chemotherapy, bevacizumab, chemoradiation, and intracavitary brachytherapy.
