Abstract

Objective To investigate the influencing factors of life quality of long term indwelling PICC catheters for cancer chemotherapy patients and propose targeted intervention proposal.Methods Used selfdesigned questionnaire and the method of face-to-face interviews to investigated 180 cancer chemotherapy patients with PICC catheters more than one month.Results The influencing factors on the quality of life of long term indwelling PICC catheters for cancer chemotherapy patients were living environment (10.49 ± 2.75),sleep situation (10.99 ± 3.28),community service conditions (11.33 ± 1.17),convenience of life (12.75 ± 4.31)and emotional state (20.73 ± 5.13).Univariate analysis showed that educational level and age were also the influencing factors for the patients (F =4.090,4.286,respectively; P < 0.05).Conclusions Long term indwelling PICC catheters are less affected the quality of life of cancer chemotherapy patients.The impact of age are different from the level of education.So,the health care workers should make targeted intervention measures of different patients.
