Abstract

Abstract Here in we are reporting a hydrothermal approach surfactant mediated hydrothermal approach to synthesize TiO2 thin films. We are using three different surfactants namely CTAB,SDS, Triton-X 100 for the synthesis of TiO2 thin films. The optical study reveals direct allowed type transition with a band gap in the range of 2.6 to 2.9 eV. The XRD pattern confirms formation of pure rutile phase of TiO2. The SEM analysis confirms a well adherent and pin hole free formation of TiO2 thin films. The EDS pattern confirms the presence of titanium and oxygen respectively. The highest photoconversion efficiency was shown by SDS: TiO2 thin film which is 3.23%. This fact confirms that TiO2 is a good candidate for enhanced photoconversion efficiency.
