Abstract
An expression for the Coulomb component of the stress tensor of a point charge lattice cast in the Parry-Ewald formulation is given. Also, an expansion is presented of the surface potential for charges separated by a small out-of-plane distance compared with the periodicity length parallel to the surface. This latter formula is suitable for incorporation in molecular dynamics or Monte Carlo computer simulations of thin ionic films, such as Langmuir or Langmuir-Blodgett films.
