Abstract

ABSTRACT The surface shot peening treatment was carried out on the as-cast SiCw/Al composites, and the distribution of the residual stresses in the surface matrix was measured, the X-ray diffraction method for the yield strength of the surface matrix of the composites was established to explore the strengthening effect of the surface shot peening. The results show that the surface matrix of the composites after shot peening shows a large compressive residual stress state, and the FWHM, that is, the microstructure strengthening effect, is significantly increased., resulting in an increase in the yield strength of the surface matrix of the composites.
