Abstract
The surface micromorphology of different faces of potassium bichromate crystals obtained from aqueous solutions at various supersaturations and temperatures is investigated. It is observed that a majority of the growth faces exhibit macrospirals and growth hillocks and that the shape of macrospirals is strongly dependent on growth conditions. The characteristics of growth micromorphology and the rectilinearity vectors (like periodic bond chain vectors) derived from growth and dissolution micromorphology are enumerated and explained.
