Abstract

We describe a new method for the preparation of thin foils assigned to observe with an electron microscope the structure of thick homoepitaxial electrodeposits. This method is founded on the association of electrolytic sawing and thinning techniques. Some examples are given in the case of the nickel electrodeposits obtained on monocrystalline surfaces of the same metal. We show that this method allows us to see the complete evolution of the morphology of the electrodeposits versus their thickness.
