Abstract
(On the Menelaus’s theorem and its applications in the Spherics of al-Istikmal of Ibn Hud from Zaragoza). This paper focuses particularly on the famous theorem of Menelaus and its applications in the Spherics of al-Istikmal of mathematician from Zaragoza, Ibn Hud (11th century). The study is essentially based on the data of « Copenhagen manuscript Or 82 » and consists of three main parts: 1) A French translation of the manuscript studied texts; 2) A mathematical and historical comment of their content, 3) An identification of sources of Ibn Hud in the treatment of this theorem and its applications. The reader will also find some established and translated texts (Ibn ‘Iraq) that carry the same theme.
