Abstract
Horse rests recently excavated in the mousterian site of La Quina (station Amont) have been studied on the point of a primary paleontological and statistical analysis. The succession of two equid forms (Equus caballus germamcus and Equus caballus gallicus) in the upper levels of thes site is observed for the first time. This work marks the interest of the utilisation of the phylogenetical line of horses for the chronological studies of the Upper Pleistocene sites, particularly those which deposits are contemporary of the transition between Middle and Upper Paleolithic.
