Abstract

A 57-year-old quadriplegic man with a history of neurogenic bladder (NGB) from a C5-C6 spinal cord injury (SCI) was initially treated at an outside institution with an indwelling suprapubic (SP) catheter for 26 years. The patient did not undergo routine bladder surveillance at the outside hospital but then transferred care to our institution. He initially presented with a roughly 1-year history of increased “tissue” at his SP site and increasing difficulties with SP tube changes. Physical examination revealed a firm, exophytic nonulcerated mass arising from the SP tube site approximately 5 × 3 × 6 cm in size (Fig.
