Abstract

A new Ag(I) coordination polymer, namely [Ag2(L)(Cl)]n (1 HL = 1-(tetrazo-5-yl)-4-(triazol-1-yl)benzene), has been successfully synthesized via the solution volatilization method. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the μ2-Cl anions and the L− ligands in μ5-N1, N4, N5, N6, N7 coordination mode connected Ag(I) ions into a 2D sheet, and the argentophilic interactions further extended this 2D sheet into a 3D supramolecular framework. The luminescent property and the catalytic activity for the degradation of congo red in a Fenton-like process were also investigated.
