Abstract
Although casework literature has dealt extensively with support, environmental modification, and clarification, these can be observed in social group work practice and have been described in part in social group work writings. They have not, how ever, been conceptualized as part of a treat ment form in social group work. Increasing skill in social group work practice, which is aimed at the growth of the individual in the group, has brought us to the point where greater consideration of method and technique is inevitable.
