Abstract

Next generation of Web services aim at providing whole solution by composition of distributed services. This new characteristic meets the need of facilitating the operation of holonic virtual enterprise(HVE), a form of virtual enterprise, which organizes resources in form of holarchy to satisfy customers and meet market requirements. In this paper, holonic virtual enterprise(HVE), supply information management system(SIMS) and Web services are introduced. Based on HVE and Web services, the requirements for SIMS are analyzed. The infrastructure of SIMS is designed. By analysis of supply operation in HVE, the key Web services and their deployment on infrastructure are designed. Finally, the dynamic composition of Web services are illustrated and composition paradigm is concluded. With the results, we can implement a SIMS to support operation of HVE and manage the supply related information as needed.
